The OBD2SCANZ handheld scan tool operates by connecting to your vehicle’s OBD2 port and gathering data from various sensors. This port is conveniently located within 50cm of your steering wheel, making it easily accessible. The gathered information is then shown on a user-friendly color screen, eliminating the need for a phone or any additional device, making it a perfect standalone unit.
This tool allows you to identify and understand fault codes as they occur. Additionally, it provides real-time data while driving and stores freeze frame data, enabling you to review recorded information when a fault arises.
With this tool, you can determine why the check engine light is on, address the issue, and reset the light. This can save you a trip to the mechanic and the associated costs, such as when dust around the fuel flap door triggers a false alarm (a common issue). The OBD2SCANZ is an easy-to-use, plug-and-play scanner ideal for those who prefer a straightforward solution. This scan tool is a basic engine ECU scan tool and not a full system scan tool. This means it only scans the engine ECU and not other modules like ABS or Airbags. If you want to scan other modules you will need a full system scan tool.

FAQ’s:
If your car is 2006 or newer (if petrol, 2006 and newer for diesel) then yes it is full OBD2 and it will work with your car. If you car is older then please contact us
*Some early and even late 2006 models were not OBD2 compliant yet even if mandated by law. Please check with us first to ensure compatibility.
Please note that not all live data parameters may be available on your vehicle model.
All cars have a diagnostics port and if your car is OBD2 it has to be within reaching distance of the steering wheel. Look under the steering wheel and above your pedals and you will find it. Then all you have to do is plug it in and the unit is powered by the OBD port.
Yes it will do both of these. You will plug it in and click read codes and it will give you the error code and a description of the issue. Like this: “P0171 – Oxygen Sensor”. So you know the problem is with the oxygen sensor and then the best thing to do is google the code and your cars year and model. (e.g. Toyota Hilux 2017 P0171). Nine times out of ten this will be a common problem and the answer will be the first thing that pops up. However it will only scan the engine ECU if you need to scan more modules like ABS or Airbags then you will need a full system scan tool.
Please note that on some vehicles, the MIL/Check Engine Light cannot be cleared/erased unless the part it is referring to as faulty is repaired or replaced first.
